Modeling Tips 101

For all of you messaging me and asking about how to be a model here some quick tips. I also offer 1 on 1 consultation on how YOU can start your career in the model industry. 

1. Get in front of a camera. Find a friend who can use their phone or camera to take some pics. This should be completely free. You are just testing the water to see how you move and pose. This is a great tester to do in front of the mirror first then go in front of a camera and try it out. This is step one to finding out if you even like being in front of the camera. 

2. What modeling do you want to do? There are various markets for modeling. Fit models, promotional modeling, catalog modeling, runway, print, and more. Which fits who you are and your aspirations of modeling?

3. Digitals! Very important that is what you send to agencies. Not your photos of you with a ton of makeup on and dressed in a floor-length gown. NO! Digitals are bare face or light makeup, wear all black (Tank and jeans) and slight poses on a natural lit area. (a white wall, brick, parking garages) as long as you have natural light. Most agencies have examples online under their submit or get discover tabs. 

4. Agencies will never ask for up from money from you!! DO NOT go with an agency that asks you to pay a fee or cost you any funds to be a part of their agency. Some agencies will ask for payment for their photographers but not to be in the agency so BEWARE and run if so. 

5. DO your research on agencies before you apply or submit. Who is on their roster or girls or guys, do they have the subdivision you want? (Runway, Print, Lifestyle, etc.) Also, check out who they are booking, you would hate to sign up and get no jobs!!!
